"This book is a general account of the doctrine, worship and life of Orthodox Christians" So begins the description found on the back cover of Bishop Ware's gem; The Orthodox Way. More than just a treatment of the doctrines of Eastern Orthodoxy, this book touches on the great doctrines of the Church held since the earliest Church Fathers. However, it is not in the least bit dry or "theological" in it's approach. It is simple and accessible to anyone with questions about the faith. Bishop Ware writes with great attention to truth yet with a passion that brings the text to life. This book appeals to the mystic as well as the theologian. Being an Orthodox text, it deals with some issues which may make some Evangelicals a little uncomfortable, but it would be a crime to let those part of this book keep you from depth of the rest.

As wonderful as the text is, Bishop Ware has punctuated the end of each chapter with awesome quotes from early Church Fathers and contemporaries alike. Read this! You'll thank me in the morning.
