Marble Swirl

When marbling paper, what do you do if the paint doesn't swirl, it just sits there?

We're using oil paints, and we've tried thinning it out, but it won't swirl and get the marble effect. Instead it just sits there in a blob. Any suggestions?

You need to add more water. Oil paints are not the best for marbling, acrylic works better. But yeah, thin it out more.
